B02 –  Ageing and slow dynamics

The notion of ageing has become a paradigm to describe the dynamical behaviour of so-called glassy systems in physics. The mathematical models one is studying here are Markov processes in random environments. In a large class of systems, it has been observed that ageing can be linked to the convergence of so-called clock processes to stable Lévy processes. The long-term goals of this project are to extend this observation to a much wider class of more realistic models, and to explore what is going on beyond this universality class.
